REAL TALK WITH JULIA KOCHUK
Saying I do to My Body
This past October, I got married. I did it up pretty big, too. A big, white, cupcake dress, two hundred guests from near and far. Nine months of preparations, crafting, and DIY-ing whipped by in a pleasure-filled blur of prosecco, friends’ faces, and silk organza. And now I’m a Mrs, living with a Mr. in a new apartment.
ADVENTURES: SUMMER SEND-OFF SAILING TRIP
This year’s summer send-off was perfection. We got together a gang of pals for an unconventional girls trip aboard The Porpoise, and spent five days island-hopping the Georgia Strait.
If this sounds like an absolute dream, it was. Come relive the journey with us.
REAL TALK WITH JULIA CHURCH (FOUNDER)
I wanted to start a place on the blog where we hear from everyday women of all ages, sizes and walks of life regarding body diversity, struggles, confidence and the pressures of womanhood. I want to hear these stories because they remind me that I am not alone in my thoughts and my shame and I am sure they will bring the same sense of comfort and community for many of our followers as well.
Today you will hear from me, because in order to ask vulnerability of others we must first share ourselves.

If the paint brushes in our shop window confused you this summer, we’re sorry. Blame the people at Creative Life, a community arts initiative for at-risk youth and member of Nettle’s Tale 10% Club.
Ten percent of each Nettle’s Tale swimsuit is donated to an organization chosen by the woman who inspired its design. In the case of the Kimberley top and our best-selling Magic Bottoms...

Real Talk with Jamie Dunlop
One of my biggest responsibilities as a mother to three daughters is to teach them how to love their bodies.
We are bombarded with appearance/body images daily. Often times, these images are photoshopped and altered making women and young girls despise their bodies. In fact, this body-hating behavior results in depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and eating disorders.
Finally, swimsuits for everyday women.
Over a couple days in late May, we gathered a bunch of local women and filmed them doing regular things in their Nettle's Tale swimsuits. We're in love with the final product and so thrilled to be able to share it with you!

REAL Talk with Julia Hansen
Growing up body image wasn't something that I often dwelled upon. When my girlfriends would talk about their bodies, I wouldn't say anything.
Mother's Day Contest
When we launched our Mother's Day Giveaway this year, we had no idea what an overwhelming amount of photos we would receive! While it certainly made it more difficult to choose winners, it warmed our hearts and put tears in our eyes to look through all these photos of strong beautiful women and their mothers & daughters.
The Mercy
While serving on a Mercy Ship in Guinea, Nicole discovered the Nettle’s Tale crowdfunding campaign online. There was one reward offered to a $1,000 pledger – having your own swimsuit custom-designed. She got three friends on board immediately, all fellow workers on the ship, and they shared the cost of the pledge amount.
REAL TALK WITH JODIE LAYNE
This is the second post in a new series we're featuring on our blog called "REAL Talk" — a place on the blog where we hear from everyday women of all ages, sizes and walks of life regarding body diversity, struggles, confidence and the pressures of womanhood.
I can distinctly remember the last time I remember liking my body without thinking about it. I was young, maybe seven, and I had just spent a day outside with my family picking sun-warmed raspberries, chasing after garter snakes that shook the tall grass, and squirting each other with the garden hose. After my bath, my mom combed my wet hair and I admired my belly and the way it stuck out in a perfectly rounded curve.
